Why a Master of Arts in Education (MAED) Degree?

 

The McKendree University Masters of Arts in Education is designed for educators who want to continue to develop their professional commitment and competence in areas such as curriculum design and instruction, teacher leadership licensure, special education, principal preparation, and higher education services along with endorsements in middle school, reading, and special education. McKendree University offers competitive tuition costs and unique opportunities for students to take two classes a semester – one night a week during the academic school year. Individuals are able to reexamine their own self-development in professional growth along with gaining greater intellectual and ethical insight.

The graduate program in teacher licensure is designed for individuals seeking an initial Illinois teaching license through a graduate degree program. This degree is open to all career seeking professionals that have completed their undergraduate studies in academic areas other than education. This degree allows student candidates who wish to enter into the teaching profession the opportunity to enhance their future career goals. Tuition


2016/2017 Academic Year (August-July)

Tuition is $465 per credit hour. The educator tuition rate is $385 per credit hour (not applicable to Higher Education Administrative Services). Online courses have an e-learning technology fee of $60 per credit hour. Students who are licensed teachers are eligible for the educator tuition rate or those holding a substitute teaching license prior to registering for classes qualify.
