Application to the Teacher Education Program
To be admitted to the Teacher Education Program at McKendree University you must:

Pass the Test of Academic Proficiency or have earned a composite score of 22 or higher on the ACT plus writing within the past 5 years or an SAT score of 1030 or higher within the past 5 years.

Have a minimum cumulative 2.75 G.P.A. for all coursework accepted in transfer and all coursework completed at McKendree University.

Complete English 111 and English 112 with grades of C or better.

Complete two Mathematics courses, one must be at least at the level of Finite Math (MTH 142), both with grades of C or higher.

Complete EDU 210 (Foundations of American Education) and EDU 115 (Technology in the Classroom) or MUED 200 (Music Classroom Technology), with a grade of C or higher.

Successfully complete a criminal background check* in all states of residence for the past seven years and submit results of TB Test*.

Successfully complete Portfolio Evaluation and Dispositions Evaluations by instructors of EDU 115 and EDU 210.

Complete the eform Application to the Teacher Education Program (this form can also be found on the "Handbooks and Forms" webpage at http://www.mckendree.edu/academics/info/education/handbooks-forms.php under "Forms."

Successfully complete the Faculty Review* process.
- Receive an affirmative vote by the COTE to admit to the program. Candidates may be permitted to continue in slected professional education courses with conditions for one semester.
