Illinois School and Campus Safety Programs

Take It Down is a free service provided by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that helps individuals remove or stop the online sharing of nude or sexually explicit images — including images shared without consent.

This service is available to:

      • Anyone under 18

      • Adults whose explicit images were shared when they were under 18

Take It Down allows you to create a secure digital fingerprint (hash) of an image on your own device without uploading the image itself. Participating platforms can then detect and remove matching content.
