New Student Orientation

Welcome to McKendree University!
New Student Orientation (NSO) is designed to help new Bearcats make a smooth transition into life at McKendree. The program introduces you to the people, resources, and traditions that define our community and sets the foundation for your academic and personal success.

 

What to Expect

Our multi-day Fall Orientation, starting on Thursday, August 20, 2026, includes:

  • Informational sessions about academic expectations and campus resources

  • Small-group discussions with student leaders and staff

  • Social opportunities to meet fellow new students

  • A welcoming ceremony that marks your official start as a McKendree Bearcat

Throughout the orientation period, you will have the chance to connect with faculty, learn about campus life, and discover the support systems available to help you thrive.

For Parents and Families

Parents and family members are encouraged to participate. We invite you to join us on Thursday, August 20th for a family-focused session that will share information about student success and how to best support your Bearcat throughout their time at McKendree. Families are also welcome to attend Convocation at 3:00 pm on the Front Lawn.
