About the Health Center

McKendree Health Center provides:

    • Primary care services

    • Disease and injury prevention

    • Chronic illness management

    • Public health support and education

Our goal is to help students maintain optimal health so they can thrive academically, athletically, and personally.

Cost:

    • McKendree undergraduate students are seen free of charge by a licensed clinician.

    • Graduate/Master’s students pay at the time of service (see pricing below).

    • All records are confidential as required by law.

Medications prescribed or lab testing (via LabCorp) are billed to insurance or a local pharmacy.

 


Services Available

    • Acute illness evaluation and treatment

    • Reproductive health care (including STI testing/treatment)

    • Chronic illness management with proper documentation

    • Physical exams

    • Selected immunizations

    • Blood draws (ordered by McKendree NP or patient’s provider)

    • Prescription and over-the-counter medications (OTC)

    • Continuation of allergy shots (approved by allergist)

    • Mental health medication management (in collaboration with Counseling Services)

    • Self-Care Cart with quick OTC medications

    • Medical history and immunization record evaluation/management

Student Pricing

Undergraduate Students

Included in the Health Service Fee:

    • TB/PPD immunization ($10)

    • Physical exam for work/daycare ($10)

    • Depo-Provera administration

    • Allergy injection administration

    • Rapid testing (flu, strep throat, UTI, blood sugar)

    • OTC medications

STI testing sent to LabCorp is billed to insurance (cash pricing available).

Graduate/Master’s Students

Graduate students do not pay the Health Service Fee. Payment due at time of service:

    • Office visit: $20

    • TB injection: $10

    • Lab/Blood draw: $10

Payment by cash or check is accepted.

Immunization Requirements

Illinois law requires all students to provide:

    • Proof of Tetanus vaccine (within 10 years)

    • Proof of two MMR vaccines

    • Proof of two Meningitis ACWY/MCV-4 vaccines

Students may obtain their immunization records from their physician, high school, or university/college previously attended. 

Note: Students born before 1957 are exempt. Students cannot attend classes or move into residence halls until these requirements are met.

Meningitis Requirement:

    • Must have ACWY/MCV-4 immunization on or after age 16.

    • If received before 16, a booster is required.
