Internships
The purpose of the McKendree University internship program is to link classes and
career together in order to create a positive learning outcome. This program complements
traditional course work by providing students the opportunity to apply classroom theory
and knowledge in the work environment, while receiving academic credit for the experience.
In addition to receiving academic credit, you will be building valuable professional
relationships that may play an important role in your future.
Through the Career Services office, students with junior and senior standing may arrange
an academic internship for 3-8 credit hours. McKendree's program is designed to provide
a hands-on learning experience in your undergraduate major or minor area. Student
interns work with the close supervision of faculty members, on-site supervisors, and
the Career Services office. To qualify for the internship program you must have at
least 60 credit hours, 12 hours completed in your major, and a GPA that is consistent
with graduation requirements. In addition, students must not have been on academic
probation in the last academic year to qualify for this program.
Students are encouraged to explore the many opportunities that the internship program
has to offer. Please contact us to schedule an appointment and learn more about this
program. A complete selection of internship sites is available in our office.
