New Student Orientation (NSO)
Welcome to McKendree University!
New Student Orientation (NSO) is designed to help new Bearcats—and their families—make
a smooth transition into life at McKendree. The program introduces you to the people,
resources, and traditions that define our community and sets the foundation for your
academic and personal success.
What to Expect
Our one-day Spring Orientation on Friday, January 9, 2026, includes:

Informational sessions about academic expectations and campus resources

Small-group discussions with student leaders and staff

Social opportunities to meet fellow new students

A welcoming ceremony that marks your official start as a McKendree Bearcat
Throughout the day, you will have the chance to connect with faculty, learn about campus life, and discover the support systems available to help you thrive.

Parents and family members are encouraged to participate! Sessions designed just for families will provide information about student success and how to best support your Bearcat throughout their McKendree journey.
