Tryout Information
**Tryout date has been set for the 2013-2014 year!**
Thank you for your interest in McKendree Cheerleading!
McKendree is a small, private liberal arts University with a growing cheerleading
program. The squad currently consists of 18-members. The Varsity Squad currently
cheers at home games for varsity football, varsity men’s basketball and varsity women’s
basketball. Occasionally, we will travel to away games. The squad practices twice
a week and has gymnastics class once a week. All members of the squad will receive
a scholarship.
McKendree has competed at the NCA College Cheer & Dance Nationals held in Daytona
Beach, Florida, as well as the Champion Spirit Group College Nationals in past years.
We have always been in the top 15 in the Small Co-ed Division and All-Girl Division
with our highest placement being 4th. I am proud of the success this small squad
has had on the national level. We will be attending NCA College Nationals April 10-13th,
2013 in Daytona, FL.
Tryouts are for all squads (football, basketball and competition). All members are
expected to cheer football and basketball. There are a few exceptions made by coaches.
Tryout Date: SUNDAY APRIL 21, 2013 9:00AM-2:00PM
- doors will open at 8am for warm up/review time as well as stunting preparation.
- the list will be posted 30 minutes after the final tryout. There will be an informational meeting following the posting.

I need to receive all applications by the day of the tryout. All decisions will
be made the day of tryouts and posted that day. If accepted on the squad you will
be receiving a binder with important information and the practice schedule. All
practices and games are mandatory. The general practice schedule during the school
year is:
Sunday 6:30-8:00pm gymnastics (all members)
3 times during the week for 2-3 hours each night. Please do not sign up for any classes
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00-3:00pm.
The summer practice schedule is June 15, 2013 9:00am-4:00pm and July 20, 2013 9:00am-4:00pm.
All summer practices are MANDATORY.
