Scholarships

McKendree University is excited to provide academic scholarships to international students who have completed the application process and been accepted to McKendree.


The following are available to first-year students:


Dean's Scholarship


Dean's Scholarships, valued at $6,500 per year are awarded to first-year students at the time of admission that have either a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale or an ACT composite score of 22 (1530 SAT) or higher.


Presidential Scholarship


Presidential Scholarships, valued at $8,000 per year are awarded to first-year students at the time of admission that have both a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale and an ACT composite score of 22 (1530 SAT) or higher.


Honor's Scholarship


Honor's Scholarships, valued at $12,000 per year are awarded to first-year students at the time of admission that have both a 3.6 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale and an ACT composite score of 27 (1820 SAT) or higher.

Students receiving the Honor's Scholarship have earned a place in the McKendree University Honor's Program.

The GPA is determined by the leaving certificate provided by students during the admission process.


The following are available to transfer students:


Transfer Scholarship


Transfer scholarships are awarded to academically talented transfer students from any institution based on the following criteria:

GPA                     Annual Award

4.0-3.00                 $7,000

2.99-2.75               $5,000

Transfer scholarships are awarded at the time of acceptance.


Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship


All Phi Theta Kappa members who enroll at McKendree University will receive an annual $2,000 PTK scholarship upon receipt of copy of membership card.


PICU Community College Transfer Scholarship


PICU will award two scholarships each semester - one $1,000 and one $500 award - to community college transfer students looking to achieve their educational goals at a member institutions.


To be eligible, students must submit an application and meet the following criteria:


·   Be currently enrolled in an Illinois community college

·   Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at a community college

·   Submit an application for admission to one of the 47 PICU member colleges or universities (McKendree is a member)

·   Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or greater
