American Addiction Centers

American Addiction Centers, a national leader in addiction treatment, is offering $10,000 in scholarships for those majoring in behavioral health, nursing, counseling, psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy, or other program focusing on treating mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Submit application form with essay. Application forms can be found at

American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and Scholarship and AACN Launch New Scholarship for Students in Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs. The new scholarship program will provide $5,000 in support to outstanding nursing students in baccalaureate, Master's, and doctoral programs at AACN member institutions. To apply for scholarship funding, students must complete an application that requires a brief 250 word essay on their goals and career aspirations in nursing. Winners will be announced within 60 days of each submission deadline, which are set for January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 each year.

AES Engineers

The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible the student needs to answer one of the essay questions that they find on our site at Amount of award: $500.00

American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program

The program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry related fields, such as environmental science, toxicology and biochemistry. Applications-available online at or by sending an e-mail to and will be accepted November 1 - March 1 (annually). Students must plan to major in or already be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science, and they must plan to pursue a career in the chemical sciences. Anderson Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship

The Anderson Auxiliary Hospital is offering scholarships for $1,000 to students in the medical field. The applications can be found in the Financial Aid Office. Teh scholarship deadline is April 17th, 2018.

Barber Education Scholarship

The Barber Education Trust was established to help with the cost of tuition and fees for students who want to become full-time workers in Christ's Church. The minimum grant award amount is $500.00. Applications can be received by contacting the Barber Scholarship Committee at (618) 268-4320. Applications are due by May 30st, 2018.


Community College Transfer Scholarship

The Community College Transfer Scholarship Program, in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, is open to Hispanic students transferring from a community college to an approved, accredited four-year institution. Eligible students are Hispanic Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, full-time undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. This application is open September 1st through December 31 to April 2 for the following academic year. Apply online at


DegreeDirectory Academic Business Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing bachelor level degrees related to business management, information systems management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, and entrepreneurship. Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history. Financial need is not considered. Eligible students must be full-time students during the academic year the scholarship is received. The $1,000 Annual Scholarship deadline is April 1st of each year. First In My Family Scholarship

The First In My Family Scholarship offers Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, and have financial need. The program is open to Hispanic-Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions. Students must have minimal grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

General Essays

These miscellaneous scholarships are being sponsored by companies as a way to give back to the community. They are open to all U.S. residents who are either high school seniors or already enrolled college students. The requirements are a little different for each, but most only require students to write a 500 word essay on a topic related to the sponsor's industry. Georgia Harkness Scholarship

The Georgia Harkness Scholarship program grants a $5,000 award to those who are chosen as Georgia Harkness Scholars. This funding can be applied to tuition, fees, and room and board for the basic seminary degree leading to elder’s ordination. This unique scholarship for women over 35 who are seeking elder's ordination in The United Methodist Church as a second career. Applicant must be a full time student and have a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher. You may apply online with the Office of Loans and Scholarships between January 4 and March 1 each year. The award is not available for undergraduate, D. Min., or Ph.D. work.

Insurance Providers - Look Twice, Save A Life Scholarship is proud to introduce a scholarship promoting motorcycle safety among students. The Look Twice, Save A Life Scholarship of $1,000 is awarded to any student who is currently attending or planning to attend college. Peg Edwards Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship’s purpose is to support a student whose intention is to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and who demonstrates the initiative and leadership qualities to make a positive contribution to the health care industry by working in the field of nursing. One $1,000 scholarship awarded to the selected applicant upon evidence of enrollment/registration in an accredited nursing program. Applicants must complete an application, personal statement and essay. St. Elizabeth Health Foundation Scholarship

The 2016 St. Elizabeth Health Foundation Scholarship Program is currently open for applications. St. Elizabeth Health Foundation is dedicated to addressing health care needs in St. Clair County and Madison County, Illinois by sponsoring health care occupations scholarships to qualified students of that area. St. Louis Area Hotel Association Scholarship

All eligible students in the St louis area are encouraged to apply for the St Louis Area Hotel Association (SLAHA) Scholarship. SLAHA will be awarding up to 10 $2,500 scholarships. You must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at a two or four-year institution. Have a minimum of a 2.5 overall GPA. Be a US citizen or permanent resident. The Summit Shah MD Scholarship

Dr. Summit Shah has founded the Summit Shah MD Scholarship in reacting to the rising tuition costs. The lessons we learn from failure are usually fundamental to later successes. United Methodist Dollars for Scholars Program

Each year through the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars (UMDFS) program, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) provides $1,000 matching scholarships to United Methodist students who have received a $1,000 scholarship from their local United Methodist church to help them attend a United Methodist-related college, university, or seminary. Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll as full-time students for fall of the coming academic year. Online applications must be submitted between January 1 and March 1 each year.

United Methodist Foundation Merit Scholars Program

These awards are for United Methodist students enrolled in United Methodist-related educational institutions. Eligibility requirements; must be a full and active member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year, minimum grade point average of 3.0, demonstrated financial need, enrolled in a full-time degree program at a United Methodist-related institution, citizen or permanent resident of the United States, seminary students must be working toward ordination at the master's level.

William M. Reiss Scholarship Fund

Scholarship recipients are limited to graduates of publicly supported high schools located within city limits of Belleville, IL. Students working toward a degree in medicine, but not nursing, are excluded. Post baccalaureate students will not be considered.
