Phonathon FAQs
When does the phonathon occur?
The phonathon occurs every Fall and Spring. The Fall phonathon usually runs from mid
September to mid October. The Spring phonathon takes place in late March and runs
into early April.
When I get a phone call, who is calling?
All callers are current McKendree students. They range from first-year students to
seniors. They come from different states and countries, and are involved in many activities
including STAT (Students Today Alumni Tomorrow) and numerous athletic sports. Though
we have a diverse group of students, they all share a passion for McKendree and are
excited to talk with you.
Why are you calling me?
We call for several reasons. We want to help you stay connected to campus; students
can fill you in on new happenings, and upcoming events. Students also call to ensure
that we have current contact information and ask for your financial support. Your
support is essential to providing students with the best McKendree experience possible.
Why can’t you just send me something in the mail?
Throughout the year, we do send mailings, such as McKendree Magazine and direct mail
pieces. Student callers are still the most personal way to keep in contact with our
donors and most donors are happy to hear from them.
When is McKendree’s fiscal year?
McKendree’s fiscal year starts on July 1 and ends June 30.
How can I make my gift?
During phonathon you can make your gift over the phone by credit card or make a pledge.
You can make a secure gift online at www.mckendree.edu/give.
However you decide to make your gift, please know that all gifts of all sizes are
important to us. We appreciate your support and thank you for it. If you have any
questions please feel free to contact us…
