'12 Days of Christmas' 2011 Holiday Giveaway

The warmth of the holiday season is upon us and McKendree University wants to spread some holiday cheer. Starting Thursday, December 1, 2011, McKendree University will be giving away presents to our Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers just for being you!

TELL A FRIEND - You have many chances to win!

How To Win:

1. "Like" us on Facebook and/or "Follow" us on Twitter.

2. Each day we will send a status update on Facebook (or tweet on the two Twitter days) with lyrics to the "12 Days of Christmas" song. Fans and followers will be asked to complete the lyric. The first person to comment on Facebook (or reply on Twitter days) with the correct lyric response WINS!

Only one present will be given out at a random time each day.

For Example:

McKendree: On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...

Correct Answer: Twelve drummers drumming

Dec. 3 (Facebook) – Gardenland Express Tickets (Missouri Botanical Garden) (2) - Congrats Katie Herath!

The Gardenland Express annual holiday flower and train show display celebrates “the gifting tree” by exploring the many benefits we receive from trees – oxygen, shade, food, shelter, recreation and more. Eight G-scale model trains travel through a whimsical landscape of festive scenes, towers of brightly-colored presents and a stacked poinsettia “tree.” More than 500 colorful poinsettias and other flowers are featured throughout the display.

Each one of these certificates entitles the bearer to one general admission ticket for one home game of your choice during the 2011-2012 men's basketball regular season. Provided by the Athletic Department.

December 18, 2011, Noon - Marshall Faulk will receive his Hall of Fame ring during a special ceremony held during the St. Louis Rams home game versus the Cincinnati Bengals at Edward Jones Dome.

Dec. 6 (Facebook) – McKendree Women's Basketball Tickets (4) - Congrats Tanya Walter Richter!

Each one of these certificates entitles the bearer to one general admission ticket for one home game of your choice during the 2011-2012 women's basketball regular season. Provided by the Athletic Department.

Dec. 7 (Facebook) – Dailey & Vincent (Hettenhausen Center for the Arts) (2) - Congrats Sarah Balla!

The rock stars of bluegrass make their first appearance on the Hett stage after taking home their industry's biggest prize: the 2010 Entertainer of the Year Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). The duo received the award for a third straight year.

How To Claim Your Present:

Winners must pick up their prize in person from the University Communications and Marketing office located at 301 Stanton Street, Lebanon, Illinois by no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011. The University Communications and Marketing office is open M-F, 8-5.

The winner must pick up their prize in person with a valid photo I.D. No prizes will be given to friends or relatives.

In order to win, winners must be 13 years of age or older.
