Account Control Technology

The Account Control Technology Foundation is pleased to inform you about our Second-Year Scholarship Program for first-year students who will be enrolled as college sophomores in the Fall of 2015. The Foundation will award 25 $1,000 scholarships in 2015 through the program to qualifying students at four-year colleges and universities nationwide. The application deadline is March 15, 2015. American Addiction Centers

American Addiction Centers, a national leader in addiction treatment, is offering $10,000 in scholarships for those majoring in behavioral health, nursing, counseling, psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy, or other program focusing on treating mental health and/or substance abuse issues.  Submit application form with essay.  Application forms can be found at

American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and Scholarship and AACN Launch New Scholarship for Students in Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs.  The new scholarship program will provide $5,000 in support to outstanding nursing students in baccalaureate, Master's, and doctoral programs at AACN member institutions.  To apply for scholarship funding, students must complete an application that requires a brief 250 word essay on their goals and career aspirations in nursing.  Winners will be announced within 60 days of each submission deadline, which are set for January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 each year.

American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program

The program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors.  The renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry related fields, such as environmental science, toxicology and biochemistry. Community College Transfer Scholarship

The Community College Transfer Scholarship Program, in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, is open to Hispanic students transferring from a community college to an approved, accredited four-year institution. Eligible students are Hispanic Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, full-time undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Conference of Women Legislators

The Conference of Women Legislators, a not-for-profit organization and a bipartisan coalition of women legislators in the Illinois General Assembly, have created a scholarship program for women.  The one-year scholarship is worth up to $2,500 for tuition, books and fees; it will not cover room and board.  Applicants must carry at least seven credit hours to qualify, making the scholarships available to part-time students.

Create Your Space Scholarship

To be  eligible the student must be a current freshman or incoming freshman for the Spring 2016 semester. In a 600-word essay, share what you would do with an extra 100 square feet of space in your dorm room. Official rules are listed on their website.  DegreeDirectory Academic Business Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing bachelor level degrees related to business management, information systems management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, and entrepreneurship.  Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history.  Financial need is not considered.  Eligible students must be full-time students during the academic year the scholarship is received.  The $1,000 Annual Scholarship deadline is April 1st of each year.  You can view details about the scholarship and last year's winner here:


Door Busters Black Friday Scholarship

In 1,000 words or less, explain how advances in the digital world are impacting retailers on Black Friday, and provide at least three ways retailers can maximize this opportunity to positively impact their bottom line on Black Friday. The First In My Family Scholarship offers Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, and have financial need. The program is open to Hispanic-Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions. Students must have minimal grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

General Essays

These miscellaneous scholarships are being sponsored by companies as a way to give back to the community. They are open to all U.S. residents who are either high school seniors or already enrolled college students. The requirements are a little different for each, but most only require students to write a 500 word essay on a topic related to the sponsor's industry. Georgia Harkness Scholarship

The Georgia Harkness Scholarship program grants a $5,000 award to those who are chosen as Georgia Harkness Scholars.  This funding can be applied to tuition, fees, and room and board for the basic seminary degree leading to elder’s ordination.  This unique scholarship for women over 35 who are seeking elder's ordination in The United Methodist Church as a second career.  Applicant must be a full time student and have a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher. You may apply online with the Office of Loans and Scholarships between January 4 and March 1 each year.  The award is not available for undergraduate, D. Min., or Ph.D. work. Scholarship offers $100 scholarship for college students and incoming freshman. The deadline to apply is June 30th, 2015. Giva, Inc. Corporate Scholarship

Giva, Inc., a technology company located in Silicon Valley, will award $1000 scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students.  All eligible students will be required to compose an essay between 500 - 1,000 words and must be submitted no later than June 1 or December 1 of each year. Details available at

The Global Studies Grant for Student Travel and Study Abroad

Designed to support foreign language training and other academic studies abroad, this grant provides supplemental funds for American students who already are studying abroad under the auspices of an official study abroad program conducted by an accredited academic institution.  The Global Studies Foundation seeks to support a formative experience abroad for the recipient, who also must share this experience with others upon his or her return - ideally, with multiple audiences and varied media.  We are particularly interested in funding the study of strategically significant countries and languages. Applicants must be US citizens and currently enrolled full-time and in good academic standing in an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution. Among the most significant selection criteria are academic performance (as indicated in courses, grades, recommendations, and other achievements), program merit, and outreach potential. Grant recipients will be expected to acknowledge GSF's support, to report on their experiences, and to work with GSF to share those experiences as widely as possible. Scholarship

The Go Overseas scholarships are available to students currently enrolled in, or in the process of applying to, study abroad programs.  Our largest scholarship is $1,000 and further information related to the application process can be found on the Go Overseas website. Scholarship Essay Contest is sponsoring four individual scholarships for this coming year.  Each scholarship will be $500 and the winner will be announced 15 days before the beginning of each quarter.

Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation Scholarship

Each year, the members of the ILLCF select deserving young people of good character and high academic achievement to receive Foundation scholarships to help them achieve their educational objectives. Insurance Providers - Look Twice, Save A Life Scholarship is proud to introduce a scholarship promoting motorcycle safety among students. The Look Twice, Save A Life Scholarship of $1,000 is awarded to any student who is currently attending or planning to attend college. James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation

The James Madison Fellowship, a federal program, offers pre-service (as well as in-service) teachers of government and history up to $24,000 to complete a Master's degree in fields related to the U.S. Constitution. The fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis. MassMutual Scholars Program

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) is pleased to announce that its MassMutual Scholars program is now a national scholarship program for high-achieving African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Hispanic students interested in careers in the insurance and financial services industry.  Eligible students of all majors will be considered who are entering their sophomore, junior, senior, or 5th-year senior year at an accredited U.S. college or university.

National Federation of the Blind

For high school seniors through grad school students. Navy Medicine

For students pursuing careers in medical, dental, and nursing, who are going to medical or dental school. The navy will pay for the entire tuition costs for medical school or dental school as well as the cost of required books and fees.

SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes

For the eighth consecutive year SunTrust is pleased to offer the Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes where students can win a $1,000 scholarship for educational expenses at a two or four year public or private college/university located in the U.S. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 and may be used toward first year expenses at an accredited college or private career school. The SunTrust sweepstakes is open to high school seniors. All winners are chosen at random. Only one entry per person is allowed for each drawing, but you can submit a new entry every two weeks. 


United Methodist Dollars for Scholars Program

Each year through the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars (UMDFS) program, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) provides $1,000 matching scholarships to United Methodist students who have received a $1,000 scholarship from their local United Methodist church to help them attend a United Methodist-related college, university, or seminary. Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll as full-time students for fall of the coming academic year.  Online applications must be submitted between January 1 and March 1 each year.

United Methodist Foundation Merit Scholars Program

These awards are for United Methodist students enrolled in United Methodist-related educational institutions.  Eligibility requirements; must be a full and active member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year, minimum grade point average of 3.0, demonstrated financial need, enrolled in a full-time degree program at a United Methodist-related institution, citizen or permanent resident of the United States, seminary students must be working toward ordination at the master's level.
Applications will be available in the Office of Financial Aid.


William M. Reiss Scholarship Fund

Scholarship recipients are limited to graduates of publicly supported high schools located within city limits of Belleville, IL. Students working toward a degree in medicine, but not nursing, are excluded. Post baccalaureate students will not be considered.
