Severe Weather Policy

This is a reminder of our inclement weather policy. Our goal is to always keep McKendree open; however, there may be an occasion when the University may cancel or alter class schedules.  Please monitor your text alert messages, emails, and University website information for updates, as weather conditions may deteriorate.  Travel safety for commuters is left to the judgment of the individual student.

In the event McKendree University cancels or alters its class schedule due to inclement weather such as snow or ice, a “Classes Cancelled” announcement or “Snow Schedule” announcement will be posted on our website to advise all students, faculty and staff as early as possible. Once University officials have assessed that extreme weather conditions exist and a decision is made, the following announcement will be posted:

"Due to inclement weather, all day and evening classes at the McKendree Lebanon campus are cancelled.  Essential personnel should report as scheduled."

or

"Classes beginning at 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. are cancelled; 9:30 a.m. classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. Normal class schedule resumes beginning with 10:00 a.m. classes.  All offices open at 10:00 a.m."

Students, faculty and staff are directed to check the McKendree University website, KMOX radio (1120 AM) and KMOV TV Channel 4 for information. Please review the Severe Weather Policy below as outlined in the McKendree University Catalog, for additional information.
