Various sites will be assigned during a 9 a.m. meeting at the Melvin Price Convention Center on campus.

The students will work with the elderly and children, help at the local food pantry, and perform physical labor for community beautification and restoration. Volunteer sites and organizations include the Lebanon Emerald Mound Fire Department, the police station, Lebanon Elementary School, Lebanon High School, Cedar Ridge Residential and Rehabilitation Center, McAllister Park, Winter Wonderland/Horner Park, Help for Mom preschool and day care, Lebanon Matthew 25:40 Ministries, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Lebanon Garden Club.

“Into the Streets” is part of the New Student Orientation program for incoming students, coordinated by the Lyn Huxford Center for Community Service (CCS).

“We hope that the students will build relationships though their service and also learn about the help they can provide to the community and opportunities for continued service,” said Joshua Hughlett, CCS program coordinator.
