The Marching Bearcat Band hosts and is the featured performing ensemble at McKendree
University's Preview of Champions Marching Band Competition, one of the largest independent high school marching band competitions in the St.
Louis area!
This event is fueled by the efforts of our wonderful volunteers and MBB members. A

McKendree University Small Band Marching Band Championship
October 13, 2018
McKendree University Athletic Bands is pleased to announce our second year of hosting a new competitive marching band show - The McKendree University Small Band Marching Band Championship - on Saturday, October 13th, 2018! Bands will be classified based upon musician size. For the 2018 season bands are limited to 65 total musicians to be able to participate. Bands will then be broken into classifications based upon musician size. We are in the process of determining whether it will be a prelims / finals show or just a single performance show. We hope you can join us on October 13th for the Bi-State Marching Band Competition!

Event Tickets
$8 – Adults 14 and up (includes program)
$6 – Children ages 7-13 (does not include program)
Free – Children 6 and under
All tickets will be sold at the main entrance to Leemon Field.
Event Concessions
Tentative vendor stands from Dairy Queen, Chick-fil-a, Schiappa's Pizza and D&T's
Ol' Fashion Kettle Korn with drinks, snacks and a variety of foods will be available during the entire show at a very reasonable price. All proceeds
will help fund the McKendree University Athletic Bands Department and our "Music in
Our Schools" programs.

Information for Participating Directors
We offer following amenities for attending bands:

Lighted Game Day Turf Field

Bands perform based on number of instrumentalists

Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each class and Grand Champion Award

Caption awards to include: Outstanding Percussion, Color Guard, Visual Presentation, and Music Performance

Video review immediately after each bands' performance
-
Clinician comments immediately after each band's performance
-
Indoor Director and Staff hospitality room overlooking the field

Concessions will be available for purchase
Step #1 – Select a registration form for the competition you wish to attend:

Step #2 – Turn in a payment request to your Business Office or Principal
Step #3 - Please contact your principal or business office to secure a Certificate of Insurance listing McKendree University as an additional insured for the 2018-2019 academic year. This process is required for you to complete due to the policy of our institution. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in this process. Thanks!
Step #4 – Verify your final numbers in the marching band (this information will be e-mailed to you approximately one month prior to the show).
Step #5 - Following your final show information confirmation email with McK, please return the attached "Clinician Information Form" at some point during the week before show.
