Public Safety Officer

McKendree University is seeking applicants for the position of a full-time Public Safety Officer for its Lebanon, IL campus.

All candidates must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully complete the physical fitness “P.O.W.E.R.” test mandated by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.   Must also possess certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) as a certified full-time police officer, be eligible to be granted a waiver of basic training from ILETSB, or must successfully complete the next available full time SWIC Police Academy session.

Police Academy training/police/military experience preferred. Candidate must have a high school diploma, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check. 

Shifts will be 12 hours and include nights, weekends, and holidays. The University provides a competitive salary, comprehensive health and insurance benefits package, paid vacation and sick leave, and a tuition benefit.
