Medical Assistant

McKendree University is accepting applications for the position of Medical Assistant in the University’s Health Services Office.  This is a full-time/temporary position through May 2022, located in Lebanon, Illinois.  

The Health Services Office prides itself on excellent patient care and service. We are seeking candidates who have exceptional customer service skills to greet, check in and assist our patients.

The successful candidate will assist the Director of Health Services with administrative functions and performing patient care and treatment including giving shots, performing labs, and tests. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Must have a current Medical Assistant certification.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Relationship Building/Management: with students, faculty/staff, administration.
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR) and the ability to assist in a variety of common medical and medical office procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
