Director of Human Resources

McKendree University seeks candidates for the position of Director of Human Resources.  The Director will report to and work closely with the Vice President of Administration and Finance and provide direction for the University in the areas of employee management to include the coordination of hiring of faculty and staff, management of employee benefits, employee discipline, and supervision of payroll in support of approximately 400 full and part time employees.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field and at least three years’ experience in human resource administration/management,  innovative leadership with demonstrated analytical and team building skills, ability to relate to all levels of staff and faculty, and the ability to enhance a sense of community among the work force.    The candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience creating a team environment and fostering cooperation and respect among diverse constituents.

Desired qualifications include a master’s degree in human resources management, business, or related field, and six to nine years’ experience in a post-secondary educational setting.  Annual compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.  The University provides a comprehensive benefits package.
