Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Technology
McKendree University welcomes applications for a Chief Information Officer and Director
of Information Technology. Reporting to the Vice President for Operations, the Chief
Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for the strategic and operational management
of all IT services including the University’s network infrastructure, cloud-based
services and learning and business applications. Additionally, this role ensures secure
access and protection of the University’s data. The CIO provides oversight of the
Department of Information Technology, directing and supporting staff in delivery of
services used by faculty, staff, and students. The CIO will foster a high level of
customer service, develop strong vendor relationships, and actively promote the use
of technology to improve teaching and business operations.
Previous experience should demonstrate expertise and experience with higher education
enterprise data systems and the ability to extract data and translate into useful
academic reports/dashboards, ability to clearly organize and communicate research
designs, analytic frameworks, and statistical results to diverse campus constituencies,
strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to establish collaborative
relationships, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and
knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL and API calls.
