Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Deputy Title IX Coordinator

McKendree University is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Deputy Title IX Coordinator at its Lebanon, Illinois campus. 

Under the general direction and supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs (AVPSA) oversees the Center for Student Success and Advising and serves as the Institution’s Deputy Title IX Coordinator.  The Deputy Title IX Coordinator works closely with the Title IX Coordinator overseeing institutional compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 Civil Rights Act, (“Title IX”), the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2013 (“VAWA”), the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (“Campus SaVE”), and related state laws. The Title IX Coordinators work closely with University Legal Counsel, the Office of Human Resources, the Office of the Provost, and other University administrators. Additionally, the AVPSA works to create and maintain a climate that fosters student learning, engagement, and development, while enhancing a strong sense of community.   

Successful candidates will hold an advanced degree; have at least 5 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience, including staff supervision, departmental leadership, and a demonstrated working knowledge of Title IX educational initiatives; and have an awareness of current trends in higher education.
