Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

McKendree University is accepting applications for a 12 month full-time Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. The Compliance Officer will report directly to the Director of Athletics.

The successful candidate will be familiar with NCAA legislation and be able to interpret same to coaches, staff, student-athletes, representatives of athletic interest and all others who relate to the McKendree University athletics program. In addition, the Compliance Officer will ensure that all NCAA guidelines are followed; will conduct an on-going rules education program for athletics staff, coaches and others associated with the athletics program; assist in investigating and processing rule violations; monitor and oversee the admission process-eligibility certification-financial aid-letter of intent and any/all additional matters related to NCAA compliance. In order to accomplish these duties, the Compliance Officer will create and implement a comprehensive Compliance Handbook and will Chair the Compliance Committee. The Compliance Officer is responsible for the Department of Athletics compliance with the NCAA, GLVC, and will act as the institution’s Title IX Coordinator. In addition, the Compliance Officer will assist the Director of Athletics in the completion of various NCAA mandated reports, e.g. the Institutional Self-Study, the Annual Report and the NCAA Financial Report. The Compliance Office will be responsible for overseeing the completion of the Department of Education Equity in Athletics Report (EADA) and will assist in preparation of any required/requested reports from the GLVC.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Previous work experience with the athletics environment required.  Experience with NCAA compliance management preferred.
