Assistant Professor of Athletic Training
The Division of Health Professions in the School of Nursing and Health Professions
at McKendree University invites applications for a tenure track position in the Master
of Science in Athletic Training program. The program will undergo initial accreditation
review by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) in
spring of 2021. The responsibilities of this position include teaching graduate courses
in athletic training and undergraduate courses in exercise science and health and
wellness, as well as participation in other activities of the division, school, and
university.
Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in athletic training or related field

Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with five (5) years of experience

Eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois

Understanding of CAATE 2020 standards for athletic training education
-
Evidence of successful higher education teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Previous experience as a Clinical Preceptor
-
Knowledge of professional Master’s program in athletic training
-
Documented clinical practice experience for a minimum of 5 years

Involvement through service associated with the CAATE, NATA, or BOC
-
Evidence of scholarly interests relevant to the field of athletic training

Experience with curriculum design, assessment, and outcomes measurement
