Admission Counselor
McKendree University, a selective private liberal arts university with a total enrollment
of over 2,500 students, welcomes applications for an Admission Counselor in the Office
of Admission. Located in Lebanon, Illinois, McKendree has been recognized by the

Reporting to the Director of Admission, the Admission Counselor is an essential and
active member of the Admission Team. This person will be responsible for managing
a recruitment territory, the development of recruiting strategies, regional and local
travel, communication with high school and community college counselors, application
review, on-campus interviews, and providing follow-up to students concerning admission,
financial aid and registration matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational
skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently with little
supervision while also being a team player, have the energy and flexibility to coordinate
multiple assignments, and work under pressure in a demanding, goal-driven environment.
The position will require some evening and weekend work as well as travel with occasional
overnight stays.
A bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license and vehicle are all required. Two to
three years of higher education admission or related work experience is preferred.
