Academic Advisor for School of Education

McKendree University welcomes applications for Academic Advisor with the School of Education.  This position is responsible for advising teacher education students to ensure all coursework and state requirements for teacher licensure and graduation are completed. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and stay abreast of state licensure laws to effectively advise both undergraduate and graduate students across all licensure programs.
  • Maintain the School of Education student data base.
  • Meet with prospective students for School of Education programs to answer program and licensure questions.
  • Work in conjunction with the School of Education Chair, Licensure Officer and Director of Teacher Education to effectively manage programs.
  • Work with local community college advisors, attend required meetings, work with the Student Success Office, and participate in community college and high school recruitment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of the School of Education. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Advising or teaching licensure experience.
