traditions together. Retreats, special guest speakers, and work activities are a
part of this group’s regular gatherings.
Wisdom from Different Faith Traditions
"An attitude of compassion does not mean looking down on someone, pitying them in
their misery. Compassion is based on respect. We discuss life as equals, learn from
each other and strive together to improve our lives." ~ Daisaku Ikeda
"Peace is not simply the absence of war; it is a state in which people come together
in mutual trust and live with joy, energy, and hope. This is the polar opposite of
war—where people live plagued by hatred and the fear of death." ~ Daisaku Ikeda
"The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is silence, the second listening, the
third memory, the fourth practice, the fifth teaching others." ~ Solomon ben Judah ibn Gabirol
"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers,
be compassionate and humble." ~ 1 Peter 3:8
