McKendree University's Center at Scott AFB offers students the high quality education and personal attention that are hallmarks of the McKendree experience. Because McKendree was established in 1828, it has the distinction of being Illinois' oldest university. The Scott AFB campus has been in existence since 1971. Both civilian and military members may enroll in courses offered at the Center at Scott AFB.

Designed to meet the special needs of working adults, McKendree's one-month class format at Scott AFB is ideal for students whose schedules may change frequently or who still want to have time for their families while working on their undergraduate degree.

The majority of the classes meet three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. This format enables you to complete a course that would normally take an entire semester in only one month. The curriculum is structured so that you can complete all degree requirements at the Scott AFB campus.

You can take up to 12 courses per year, or you can take fewer courses to accommodate your personal desires or work responsibilities.

McKendree's instructors are highly qualified and sensitive to the needs of working adults. Most teach at McKendree  while also working in their specialty fields. They bring a "real world" perspective to the classroom that integrates theory and practice.

Classes are held either on base in the Education Center or on the main campus in Lebanon just a few minutes from Scott AFB.

Approximately 376 students are currently enrolled in the McKendree  Center at Scott AFB program. Approximately 61% are active duty military. The remainder are civilian employees who find McKendree's accelerated format compatible with their job or family obligations. Approximately 60% of the student body is male and 40% is female.

For your convenience, the McKendree Center at Scott AFB office is located in the Base Education office in Bldg. 1650. It provides the convenience of "one-stop shopping". You can enroll for courses, get academic advising, apply for financial aid, and purchase your textbooks at a single location. There's no waiting in long lines ... walking miles from building to building ... or bureaucratic red tape. Payments can be made by either check, MasterCard, VISA, Discover or American Express.
