American Business Women’s Association Metro-East Chapter #4002
The ABWA is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2010-2011 school year.  Scholarships are available to students who are residents of St. Clair County and will be a college Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate level in August 2010.  Scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded.  Applications may be obtained from the Financial Aid office, or by writing to:  ABWA Metro-East Chapter #4002, Attn: C J Carpenter, Professional Development Committee, 712 Foster Drive, Belleville, IL  62226.  Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope when requesting application forms.  Application deadline for the scholarship is May 7, 2010.

American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program
The program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors.  The renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry related fields, such as environmnental science, toxicology and biochemistry.
Applications-available online at www.acs.org/scholars or by sending an e-mail to scholars@acs.org and will be accepted through March 1, 2010, for the 2010-2011 school year.  Students must plan to major in or already be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science, and they must plan to pursue a career in the chemical sciences.  Scholarships range for $1,000 to $5,000, depending on a college level and economic need.  Questions call 800-227-5558 ext. 6250.

American Dream Scholarship
The American Dream Scholarship Program is open to African Americans with financial need. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with a minimal 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, who meet Pell Grant eligibility criteria, and are enrolled full-time at approved, accredited, undergraduate institutions. Anderson Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time in a health occupation program with a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale. Students must be legal residents of the state of Illinois and reside in Madison or St. Clair counties. Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid and are due by May 15, 2010.

Army Nurse Corps Association Scholarship Program
The Army Nurse Corps Association is seeking applications from qualified students, in conjunction with their college or university for the 2010 Scholarship Program.  The application will be initiated directly by the student.  Questions should be sent by e-mail to education@e-anca.org.  Complete information about eligibility and the application process, to include necessary forms and content requirements, is outlined in the "ANCA Scholarship Program Guidelines and Application" available for downloading, and in some cases completion, at the ANCA website http://e-anca.org under the "Scholarship" tab.  The cutoff date for submission of application is April 1, 2010.

Art Scholarship Competition

Barber Scholarship
Open to students pursuing Christian service through full-time work in the church.  Full-time work includes those pursuing ordained ministry, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, or other specialized ministries within the church. BCMW Scholarship Program
BCMW Community Services will be awarding ten $2,000 scholarships for the 2009-2010 school year for non-traditional students who are returning to school due to a recent loss of employment.  We will also be awarding ten $1,000 general scholarships.  The scholarships are open to residents of Bond, Clinton, Marion and Washington counties who are desiring to further their education at an Illinois accredited college or university.  Eligibility criteria will be based on 90 day proof of income, most current grade point average and a 100-200 word career goals statement.
Applications will be available beginning August 24, 2009 at BCMW 909 E. Rexford in Centralia and at the BCMW Outreach offices.  The applications must be returned by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009.  Any questions concerning the BCMW Scholarship Program can be directed to Sue Castleman at (618) 532-7388, ext 115 or Sarah Ford at ext. 127.

B. Davis Scholarship
This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institiution.  Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next.  To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on the topic: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss whether you believe you possess some or all of these qualities, and describe an experience where you developed and/or demonstrated some or all of these traits. Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association Scholarship Program
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in 2010. This scholarship is non-renewable and funded by the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association (CIWBA) and the Sangamon County Bar Association (SCBA). To be eligible you must be a female student enrolled in an accredited two or four year college or university in the Fall of 2010, intending to go to law school; or a graduate or law student applying to attend or attending an accredited law school. You must have been a resident of one of the following Illinois counties when you graduated high school: Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Ford, Greene, Jersey, Livingston, Logan, Macon, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Moultrie, Piatt, Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Vermilion, and Woodford. All applications must be postmarked by March 12, 2010, to be considered. Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid.

Chicago Lighthouse for People who are Blind or Visually Impaired
Applicants must be blind or visually impaired. Scholarships can range from $1000 to $5000. Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid. Citigroup Outstanding Teacher Scholarship Program
Students must be low-income, minority, first generation, or male, majoring in education, who plans to teach in a public school system upon graduation. Fliers with more information are available in the Office of Financial Aid or you can apply online at www.acifund.org/scholarships.

Collegiate Liberty Awards
The Illinois Policy Institute seeks outstanding term papers, essays, theses or dissertation chapters that embrace and support the principles of individual liberty, property rights, the rule of law, voluntarism or free enterprise.  Entries should be submitted by October 15, 2010.  Collegiate Liberty Awards in the amount of $1,000 will be presented to each winner.  Winning papers will be announced in January of 2011 and may be published by Illinois Policy Institute.  Questions? Community College Transfer Scholarship
The Community College Transfer Scholarship Program, in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, is open to Hispanic students transferring from a community college to an approved, accredited four-year institution. Eligible students are Hispanic Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, full-time undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Community Services Block Grant
The CSBG Scholarship program provides financial assistance for low-income students enrolled in secondary education programs. Students enrolled in an Illinois college, university, or vocational training program by September 8, 2009, have primary residence in Chicago, and meet established income guidelines. Conference of Women Legislators 
The Conference of Women Legislators, a not-for-profit organization and a bipartisan coalition of women legislators in the Illinois General Assembly, have created a scholarship program for women.  The one-year scholarship is worth up to $2,500 for tuition, books and fees; it will not cover room and board.  Applicants must carry at least seven credit hours to qualify, making the scholarships available to part-time students.  For more information or to download an application, visit the COWL Web site at www.cowlil.com.  Applications must be received by April 10.

CWO 3 Charles E. Nalley Scholarship Award
The Southwest Illinois Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will award a $1,000 scholarship for one year of College.  The scholarship may be used by the winner for his/her tuition, books or general college expenses.  The applicant must be a high school senior or a currently enrolled undergraduate, full-time student of an accredited college or university in the award year.  The applicant must also be a relative; i.e. son, daughter or grandchild of a current active, dues paying member (for a minimum of one year) of the chapter.  Applicant must be enrolled and attending the college by September 30th of the award year. Deadline for applications is March 16, 2010.  Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid.

Datatel Scholarship Foundation (2009/2010 Academic Year)

The Datatel scholarship is open to full and part time students (taking at least 6 hours). Each applicant must submit a personal essay of no more than 1,000 words. They must also obtain 2 letters of recommendation. Their GPA and civic involvement are also figured into the applicants score. http://www.datatelscholars.org/Deadline: January 30, 2009

Davies-Jackson Scholarship
The Davies-Jackson Scholarship presents a unique opportunity for an outstanding student, who is the first in his or her family to graduate from college, to participate in a course of study in the United Kingdom at St. John's College at Cambridge University, following their graduation.  The two-year, full scholarship to St. John's covers all tuition, fees, room and board during term-time, living expenses during summer vacation, and travel to and from England.  We seek applications from students who have demonstrated enthusiasm for and achievement in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and who wish to enrich the depth of his or her learning and experience within the British tutorial system.  Application materials for the Davies-Jackson Scholarship will be available in September 2010.  Application materials may be obtained by accessing the Davies-Jackson web site at:  http://www.cic.edu/projects_services/grants/daviesjackson/index.asp.

DegreeDirectory Academic Business Scholarship
This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing bachelor level degrees related to business management, information systems management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, and entrepreneurship.  Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history.  Financial need is not considered.  Eligible students must be full-time students during the academic year the scholarship is received.  The $1,000 Annual Scholarship deadline is April 1st of each year.  You can view details about the scholarship and last year's winner here:  http://degreedirectory.org/pages/business_scholarship.html

Diversity Abroad, in cooperation with AIFS, will offer twenty, $1,000 scholarships for spring 2010, summer 2010 and fall 2010 study abroad. Six scholarships are available for the fall, six for the spring and eight for the summer.  Scholarships are only available for students studying or interning abroad on credit-bearing programs offered by a Diversity Abroad member organization. The First In My Family Scholarship offers Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, and have financial need. The program is open to Hispanic-Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions. The Gilman Scholarship Fund
The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad. Awards of up to $5,000 are made for U.S. citizen undergraduates to study abroad. Award amounts will vary depending on the length of study and student need with the average award being $4,000.
Eligibility: For any U.S. citizen in good academic standing and who is taking part in any credit-bearing study abroad program for up to one academic year. Student must demonstrate financial need; students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year undergraduate college or university are eligible to apply. Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition

Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or first year college students who intend to make music a central part of their future life. Applicants must submit a clear high-quality audio CD or cassette of good length with either an instrumental or vocal performance. It must also include a statement of musical intention. The Global Studies Grant for Student Travel and Study Abroad
Designed to support foreign language training and other academic studies abroad, this grant provides supplemental funds for American students who already are studying abroad under the auspices of an official study abroad program conducted by an accredited academic institution.  The Global Studies Foundation seeks to support a formative experience abroad for the recipient, who also must share this experience with others upon his or her return - ideally, with multiple audiences and vaired media.  We are particularly interested in funding the study of strategically significant countries and languages.
Applicants must be US citizens and currently enrolled full-time and in good academic standing in an accredited secondary or postsecondary institution. Among the most significant selection criteria are academic performance (as indicated in courses, grades, recommendations, and other achievements), program merit, and outreach potential. Google - Doodle 4 Google
Google's second annual Doodle for Google will award a $15,000 scholarship to one K-12 student. The scholarship can be used at any school the student selects. To be considered for the prize, students must redesign the Google logo. The design theme for this year is: 'If I Could Do Anything, I Would?' A teacher must register for the competition on behalf of the student. Check out www.google.com/doodle4google for official rules and details on how to enter the competion.  The registration deadline is March 17, 2010. Doodles must be submitted by March 31, 2010.

Grover Hermann Foundation Scholarship
The Grover Hermann Foundation Scholarship will award five scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to students with a 2.5 GPA with unmet financial need.   www.acifund.org 

Hancock County Retired Teachers’ Scholarship

Eligible applicants for the Hancock County Retired Teachers’ Scholarships must have been accepted into a teacher certification program at the sophomore, junior, or senior level.  Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be a graduate of a Hancock County High School.  Applicants for this scholarship can be obtained at the Regional Office of Education #26 office in Carthage or Macomb, Illinois, or can be obtained at the Office of Financial Aid.  This scholarship has a value of $500.  Applications must be filed by April 23, 2010.

Hispanocare, Inc. Student Scholarship

Established in 1996, Hispanocare has provided scholarships for students of Latino descent whose studies are in the healthcare field.  Funds are awarded to individuals of Latino backgrounds who are enrolled (or accepted for enrollment) as full-time and part-time students by fall of 2010.  Award amounts vary depending on donor donations.  Priority deadline is Friday, October 8, 2010.  Visit our web site at http://www.advocatehealth.com/immc/body.cfm?id=105 or stop in the Financial Aid Office for an application.
 

HSBC Scholars Scholarship

This scholarship awards students who are first generation college students. Preference will be given to graduates of ACI’s College Readiness Program. Fliers with more information are available in the Office of Financial Aid or you can apply online at www.acifund.org/scholarships.

IAA Foundation

Illinois Great Rivers Conference Merit Awards
From the United Methodist Student Day Special Offering, scholarships will be awarded to students attending a United Methodist-related school, college, university or theological school recognized by the University Senate.  One or more $500 merit awards will be awarded; the number of awards is directly related to the amount allocated to the IGRC from the Student Day Special Offering.  Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid and must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2010.
 

IL Retired Teacher Association

Must be a junior or senior in college with a 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale and have been selected into a teaching training program. Applicants must be a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of an IRTA member. In 2008 the IRTA is offering six $1,500 scholarships to Illinois students split between the two semesters. Applications are in the Office of Financial Aid.

 

Illinois Hospital Research and Education Foundation
A
pplicants must be enrolled in a hospital-related health care professional program with a minimum of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must be Illinois residents. Students having less than one academic year remaining after graduation are not eligible for consideration. Scholarships are based on student’s scholastic achievement, financial need, and availability of funds. Illinois Sheriffs' Association Scholarships
The Illinois Sheriffs' Association will be awarding 105 scholarships throughout the State of Illinois.  The student must be enrolled full-time and must be permanent Illinois residents.  Scholarships are to be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois.  Applications are now available at the local sheriff's offices or on the internet at www.ilsheriff.org.  Students must fill out the application, complete the written essay and return all documentation to the sheriff's office in the county of your permanent residence by April 12, 2010 (must be postmarked by this date).

J.A.M. Scholarship - Trenton First United Methodist Church
The mission of this scholarship is to honor the memory of Justin Melzer, a 21 year old young man who died Sept. 7, 2009, and his ministry through music and to encourage participation in church music ministries.  Annually a $500 stipend will be awarded to a qualified recipient.  Applicants for this scholarship must be a member of a United Methodist Church in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference.  These persons may either be graduating high school seniors, college undergraduates, or students attending a tech or trade school.  To obtain an application for this scholarship, you can go to the church's website at www.trentonfumc.com and click on the link to the scholarship.  Copies are available in the Office of Financial Aid or the church office at 220 N. John T. Petters Foundation
In memory of John T. Petters, scholarship funds are available to undergraduate students who are members of a John T. Petters Foundation Partner University and/or Non-profit organizations or undergraduates who apply separately as an "Open Scholar". MB Financial Bank Scholarship

Microsoft holds a new Rally Challenge for students each month. Winners of every monthly challenge receive a prize and an opportunity to compete in the final challenge. Monsanto Hispanic Network Scholarship 2009

National Federation of the Blind

For high school seniors through grad school students. Nursing Scholarship Program
The Nursing Scholarship Program is a selective program of the U.S. Government that helps alleviate the critical shortage of registered nurses currently experienced by certain types of health care facilties by helping needy students complete their registered nurse training. In exchange for the scholarship, upon graduation, the newly minted nurses work at these types of facilities for at least 2 years.

Post-9/11 GI Bill:  Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship
Public Law 111-32, the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, amends the Post-9/11 GI Bill (chapter 33) to include the children of service members who die in the line of duty after Sept. 10, 2001.  The benefit is effective August 1, 2009; the same day the Post-9/11 GI Bill takes effect.  Eligible children attending school may receive up to the highest public, in-state undergraduate tuition and fees, plus a monthly living stipend and book allowance under this program.  More detailed provisions of the Fry Scholarship can be found at www/gibill.va.gov/documents/Fry_Scholarship.pdf

ProNet International Gifts & Scholarships, Inc.

United Methodist GBHEM Scholarships
The GBHEM Scholarships on-line application will open on Monday, January 4, 2010. This is the application individual United Methodist members may use to apply directly with GBHEM for the committee determined scholarship programs. Open to families with a combined income of $30,000, or less. This program supplements financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students’ financial needs.
