American Business Women’s Association Metro-East Chapter #4002
Two different scholarships with different eligibility requirements are available:
The first one is the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund Outright Grant. To be eligible, the applicant must be at least at the sophomore level in college (completed 45 credit hours or more) when applying for funds to be used for the Fall 2009 academic term.
The second scholarship is available to students who are residents of St. Clair County and will be a college Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate level in August 2009.
Applications may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office. Please note: the application deadline for both scholarships is May 8, 2009.
American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program
The program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry related fields, such as environmnental science, toxicology and biochemistry.
Applications-available online at www.acs.org/scholars or by sending an e-mail to scholars@acs.org and will be accepted through March 1, 2010, for the 2010-2011 school year. Students must plan to major in or already be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science, and they must plan to pursue a career in the chemical sciences. American Dream Scholarship
The American Dream Scholarship Program is open to African Americans with financial need. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with a minimal 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, who meet Pell Grant eligibility criteria, and are enrolled full-time at approved, accredited, undergraduate institutions. Anderson Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time in a health occupation program with a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale. Students must be legal residents of the state of Illinois and reside in Madison or St. Clair counties. Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid.

Army Nurse Corps Association Scholarship Program
The Army Nurse Corps Association is seeking applications from qualified students, in conjunction with their college or university for the 2010 Scholarship Program. The application will be initiated directly by the student. Questions should be sent by e-mail to education@e-anca.org. Barber Scholarship
Open to students pursuing Christian service through full-time work in the church. Full-time work includes those pursuing ordained ministry, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, or other specialized ministries within the church. The fund is designed to give preference to those persons who are from the Onarga area or were raised in the boundaries of the Iroquois River District, of the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference, of the United Methodist Church. BCMW Scholarship Program
BCMW Community Services will be awarding ten $2,000 scholarships for the 2009-2010 school year for non-traditional students who are returning to school due to a recent loss of employment. We will also be awarding ten $1,000 general scholarships. The scholarships are open to residents of Bond, Clinton, Marion and Washington counties who are desiring to further their education at an Illinois accredited college or university. Eligibility criteria will be based on 90 day proof of income, most current grade point average and a 100-200 word career goals statement.
Applications will be available beginning August 24, 2009 at BCMW 909 E. Rexford in Centralia and at the BCMW Outreach offices. The applications must be returned by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009. Community Services Block Grant
The CSBG Scholarship program provides financial assistance for low-income students enrolled in secondary education programs. Students enrolled in an Illinois college, university, or vocational training program by September 8, 2009, have primary residence in Chicago, and meet established income guidelines. The Conference of Women Legislators, a not-for-profit organization and a bipartisan coalition of women legislators in the Illinois General Assembly, have created a scholarship program for women. Datatel Scholarship Foundation (2009/2010 Academic Year)
The Datatel scholarship is open to full and part time students (taking at least 6 hours). Each applicant must submit a personal essay of no more than 1,000 words. Davies-Jackson Scholarship
The Davies-Jackson Scholarship presents a unique opportunity for an outstanding student, who is the first in his or her family to graduate from college, to participate in a course of study in the United Kingdom at St. John's College at Cambridge University, following their graduation. The two-year, full scholarship to St. John's covers all tuition, fees, room and board during term-time, living expenses during summer vacation, and travel to and from England. We seek applications from students who have demonstrated enthusiasm for and achievement in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and who wish to enrich the depth of his or her learning and experience within the British tutorial system. DegreeDirectory Academic Business Scholarship
This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing bachelor level degrees related to business management, information systems management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, and entrepreneurship. Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history. Financial need is not considered. The First In My Family Scholarship offers Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, and have financial need. Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or first year college students who intend to make music a central part of their future life. HigherOne
HigherOner announces the OneScholarship. We will be awarding $25,000 in scholarship money, specifically ten $2,500 scholarships to deserving students at Higher Once Campuses. Details are available online at www.higherone.com/scholarship. To qualify for a scholarship, students may submit entries, written or video, describing why they feel they deserve the scholarship. Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges. We will begin the evaluation process after September 30th, 2009.
HSBC Scholars Scholarship

IAA Foundation
The IAA Foundation is pleased to announce plans to award 57 scholarships to students majoring in agriculture, agri-business, or a related field, as well as many scholarships open to any major. IL Retired Teacher Association
Must be a junior or senior in college with a 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale and have been selected into a teaching training program. Applicants must be a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of an IRTA member. In 2008 the IRTA is offering six $1,500 scholarships to Illinois students split between the two semesters. Applications are in the Office of Financial Aid.
Illinois Hospital Research and Education Foundation
Applicants must be enrolled in a hospital-related health care professional program with a minimum of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must be Illinois residents. Students having less than one academic year remaining after graduation are not eligible for consideration. Scholarships are based on student’s scholastic achievement, financial need, and availability of funds. Applications are available in the Office of Financial Aid.
Illinois Sheriffs' Association Scholarships
Sheriff Mearl J. Justus, St. Clair County, will be awarding one scholarship in the amount of $500. Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2009-2010 school year, excluding summer session. Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents. Scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning with the State of Illinois. Applications are now available at the St. Clair county Sheriff's Department or on the internet at www.ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the sheriff's office in their permanent county of residence by March 13, 2009.

The MLK Scholarship Award is to assist students who are pursuing higher education. The scholarship is awarded to applicants who best exemplify the ideals of Rev. The Monsanto Hispanic Network Scholarship is designed to help subsidize a Hispanic student's college education. The Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship program awards $330,000 annually to 60 Fellowship recipients. Post-9/11 GI Bill: Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship
Public Law 111-32, the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, amends the Post-9/11 GI Bill (chapter 33) to include the children of service members who die in the line of duty after Sept. 10, 2001. The benefit is effective August 1, 2009; the same day the Post-9/11 GI Bill takes effect. Eligible children attending school may receive up to the highest public, in-state undergraduate tuition and fees, plus a monthly living stipend and book allowance under this program. RMT Charitable Trust Scholarship
The RT Charitable Trust Scholarship will be awarded for the first time in May 2010. Scholarships will be a minimum of $2,000. Applications will be accepted beginning in March 2010 and is open to anyone that graduated from an Effingham County high school. Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship
One Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study abroad will be available for students whose permanent address is in Rotary District 6510, which covers the southern tip of Illinois (from below Collinsville and Effingham to Cairo). Virtually all expense will be paid, up to $25,000. Applicants should be college juniors, seniors, or graduate students in the academic year 2010-2011. They must have the endorsement of one of the 48 Rotary Clubs in District 6510.

St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Auxiliary
Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in the health field. Talbots Charitable Foundation, Inc.
In keeping with our long-standing belief in the power of education, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to offer a scholarship fund for women looking to pursue a college education later in life. United Methodist Scholarship Allocation (UM)
The United Methodist Scholarship Allocation (UM) applications for the 2009/2010 academic year is available in The Office of Financial Aid. Eligibility requirements must be: full and active members of The United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying and be full-time degree candidates at our institution, maintain a GPA of 3.9, and demonstrate financial need. Applications must be returned to The Office of Financial Aid by August 1, 2009.
United Methodist Foundation Merit Scholars Program
The United Methodist Foundation Merit Scholars Program applications for the 2009/2010 academic year is available in The Office of Financial Aid. Eligibility requirements must be: full and active members of the United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying, and be full-time degree candidates at our institution, Maintain a GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. (Seminary students must be working toward ordination at the master's level.) Applications must be returned to The Office of Financial Aid by August 1, 2009.
Unmet Need Scholarship
Open to families with a combined income of $30,000, or less. This program supplements financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students’ financial needs. The Unmet Need Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are accepted or enrolled full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions. Students must have minimal 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be eligible to apply. Recipients are selected based on financial need. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,800. William M. Reiss Scholarship Fund
Scholarship recipients are limited to graduates of publicly supported high schools located within city limits of Belleville, IL. Applicants must be working towards a degree in medicine, but not in nursing, are excluded. Post baccalaureate students will not be considered. Applications are available online by searching for the scholarship.
