Christopher Hall
chall@mckendree.edu
Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid

Chris joined the admission team at McKendree in 1995. Ever since, his professional focus has been sharing his passion for McKendree with prospective students and parents. For Chris, the only thing better than seeing an incoming freshman excited about enrolling at McKendree, is seeing him/her walk across the stage at graduation. Chris is an avid music-lover who has one of the most eclectic collections of CDs known to man. Stop by his office in Piper for a sample. Chris also confesses, due to the influence of his daughter Aiden, to a love of the Power Puff Girls. He makes his home in Shiloh, Ill. with his wife, Sherry, and daughters, Aiden and Sophie.

Director of Undergraduate Admission

Josie came to McKendree in the fall of 2002 and works with first-year students from southern Illinois.

Favorite Place on Campus: I love the main lounge in the Piper Academic Center – not only does the window provide a beautiful view of campus, but since it is right outside of my office, I get a chance to see many of the students I worked with every day!

Favorite Food in the Lair: Really, I love their grilled chicken sandwiches, cheeseburgers, French fries…  well, I guess I just love food.

Megan Koester
mskoester@mckendree.edu

Admission Counselor

Megan came to McKendree in the summer of 2005 and works with first-year students from East Central Illinois and some local schools.

Favorite Place on Campus: Deneen Student Center (The Lair) where I often eat lunch and grab a quick game of ping pong. Challenge me if you like…

Advice to Students:
Take advantage of the campus visit – visit every school you are even thinking about applying to, meet with the admission staff, sit in on classes, speak with professors, eat lunch with current students, etc.! The more you do on a particular campus, the easier it will be to know what school is the right fit for you.

Favorite Food in Ames:
It is the only place where I eat pizza and French fries in the same meal. I just can’t resist!

Tim Jeffers
tdjeffers@mckendree.edu

Tim joined the admission staff in October of 2006 and works with first-year students from west central Illinois. He holds a bachelors degree in marketing. Tim has experience in sales and is excited to incorporate his professional experience with that of his college experience. He is looking forward to sharing his excitement with prospective students and their families.  Originally from Sparta, Ill., Tim and his wife Monica now reside in O'Fallon, Ill.

kaeichelberger@mckendree.edu
Director of Nursing Admission

Kim joined the admission staff in June of 2004 and works with undergraduate and graduate nursing students. She holds a degree in social work, and her prior work experience is in counseling, health care, and sales. An avid supporter of the nursing profession, Kim continues to work every other weekend on an oncology floor in a St. Louis hospital as a clinical partner.

The greatest love of Kim’s life is her daughter, Mindy, who she says makes her laugh on a daily basis. A former debater, Kim enjoys judging high school and college debate when her schedule allows.  She is passionate about animals, particularly cats and horses, and  volunteers as a cat foster for a local relief program.  She also enjoys reading books of all types and watching old movies.  Kim makes her home in Belleville, Ill.

Favorite Thing about Campus: How nice everyone is…You can walk across campus and everyone you meet smiles and says hello. It is nice to be in such a friendly environment.

Advice to Students: Live on campus! You will meet so many people and create wonderful friendships that will last a lifetime.

Favorite Food in Ames: The desserts – especially the Rice Krispy treats!

Brie Mueller

Brie came to McKendree in July 2007.  She works with prospective graduate students during the admission process, primarily focusing on McKendree’s master’s degree programs in education and professional counseling.  Brie resides in Belleville, Ill., with her new husband.

Patty Aubel
Graduate Admission Counselor

Patty came to McKendree in 2007 and works with graduate students.

Favorite Place on Campus: Sitting on a bench on the front lawn of campus, especially in early spring.

Favorite Food in Ames: There is not one particular food, it is actually a whole meal…the Thanksgiving lunch that is served for the entire campus the week before Thanksgiving.

Hidden Talent: I can teach anyone 3 simple dance moves that they can confidently take to any wedding reception dance floor.  They will be leading the conga line in no time!

Leslie Daugherty
lrdaugherty@mckendree.edu

Associate Director of Admission

Leslie came to McKendree in January 2003 and works with transfer students.

Favorite Place on Campus: Baker Hall Room 218 – This was my first room on campus and I met many of my best friends here.

Favorite College Memory: My senior year, a large group of students and professors went to Portugal and Spain over spring break. The trip itself was awesome, but I vividly remember the night we were all sitting in a scary castle/hotel in Portugal listening to Dr. Bosse tell ghost stories about the McK campus and surrounding area. Not only did she manage to scare us, but she taught us a lot about the history of McKendree and Lebanon.

Advice to Students: Get involved, get involved, get involved! There are so many different clubs and organizations to be a part of (and if the one you are looking for doesn’t exist, start it yourself). It is a great way to meet new friends and really get the most out of your college experience.

Christine Thomas
cethomas@mckendree.edu

Admission Counselor/Coordinator of International Admission

Christine came to McKendree in the summer of 2005 and works with transfer and international students.

Advice to Students: Enjoy being “undecided” your first year and don’t worry about the pressure of deciding. I spent my first year exploring my options before deciding on a major. In the meantime, I was able to explore many different areas and fully develop my academic interests.

Favorite Food in Ames: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches – they are great! And don’t forget to grab a dessert that the staff makes homemade every day!

Favorite Movie: “The Family Stone” - I love this movie because it is set during Christmas and follows a large family as they reluctantly accept another person into their group. It has a great cast and many funny moments.

Lester McQuaid
Music Admission Counselor

Lester came to McKendree in the summer of 2007 and works with music students.

Advice to Students: Leave your dorm room door OPEN! Don’t hide away in your room. Be ready to meet new people and have all kinds of new experiences!

Favorite Food in Ames: The best food is by far the egg rolls! They don’t come around very often, so on the days they do you might have to fight me for a spot in line!

Random Information: I love to travel and have been all over the world – Europe 6 times, Mexico 2 times, South America, South East Asia, the Caribbean, Canada and all across the USA!

Jolene Fisher
ijfisher@mckendree.edu
Admission Officer

Jolene came to McKendree in December 2007.

Favorite College Memory: Watching incredible artistic performances at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts. Among others, I’ve seen the Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago and listened to enlightening and engaging speakers like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. And it was all FREE!

Advice to Students: College is what you make of it. If you never go to class and never get involved, you’ll get a lot of sleep but not much else. Take advantage of the many educational and social opportunities around you and by your senior year, you’ll be amazed at how much you’ve grown and how much you’ve learned, not to mention how much fun you’ve had.

Favorite Food in Ames: The special pizza that Joe makes with the alfredo sauce! Mmmm….

Jan Mallrich
jmallric@mckendree.edu
Administrative Assistant

Jan came to McKendree in the summer of 1978.

Favorite Place on Campus: The Hettenhausen Center for the Arts – It is such a beautiful theater, and I have enjoyed many concerts and even seen my grandchildren perform onstage.  It has been such a great addition to the campus and community.

Favorite Food in Ames: The desserts – The cookies and sweetbreads are my weakness.

Favorite Movie: Hairspray – I was really able to relate to it and enjoyed the music and dancing.

Joan Lang
Administrative Assistant

Joan came to McKendree in February 2008.

Favorite Place on Campus: It is too soon for her to choose. Check back to see where she decides…

Advice to Students: To make friends, you have to be a friend.

Hidden Talent: I can say my ABC’s backwards - as fast as I can say them forwards.
