Percussion Studies at McKendree is designed to develop a high level of musicianship and performance appropriate to the curriculum of each student, as well as provide students with a variety of enriching musical opportunities and experiences and a well-rounded total percussion education. Performance opportunities include: McKendree University Drumline and Marching Bearcat Band, Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Pep Band.
Applied percussion addresses performance practice in the areas of rudimental and concert snare drum, mallet/keyboard percussion, timpani, drumset, world percussion, multiple percussion, and accessories. Percussionists are also presented the opportunity to attend and participate in guest master classes, workshops, and concerts held in the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts and surrounding region.
