Marching Band

The Marching Bearcat Band (MBB) is the most visible performing ensemble on the McKendree University campus. MBB performs at all home football games, is the host and featured performing ensemble at our Preview of Champions Marching Band Competition, and is the sponsor of Drum Corps International’s DCI St. Louis show.

Each fall the band wraps up the season with a staged and specially lighted concert in the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts. The show highlights all the music from the season and features the Color Guard, PomCats Dance Team, the Drumline and special guests. Recent shows have included Hits of the 70s and 80s, a Superhero Show, Southern Fried Rock, Music from Les Miserable, and YouTube Hits.

The MBB is made up of students from many different disciplines: approximately 50% majoring in areas outside music, 25% majoring in music and 25% minoring in music.
