Collections & Archives
Holman Library is a Governing member of CARLI, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois. The Library
collections include the University Archives, the Warren Grauel and Irving Dilliard Special Collections, among others. The
Library staff has successfully completed grant projects in the last few years including the digitization of the University’s
yearbooks and founding documents; collection expansion grants for the Japanese and Jamaican programs; and electronic books.

Founding documents of the University
Archives
The McKendree University Archives and Museum holds the historical records of the institution as well as those of individuals, families, and organizations affiliated with
it. The holdings include archival and manuscript collections, photographs, prints, newspapers, and audiovisual materials. The
McKendree Archives and Museum actively collects and preserves these diverse materials for future generations. Furthermore,
objects of art and material culture in the museum convey the history of McKendree to students, faculty, alumni, and interested
community members. The College Archives and Museum is especially important because it is the major campus repository commemorating
and conserving McKendree’s unique history as the oldest college in Illinois.
