Students Take Part in National Youth Service Day on April 26
Lebanon, Ill. — Every year, millions of young Americans volunteer their time to address
the needs of surrounding communities on National Youth Service Day, is the largest
service event in the world. National Youth Service Day gives volunteers an opportunity
to give back to their communities and to grow as leaders.
On April 26, the McKendree University Community Action Team and the Center for Public
Service, in conjunction with the Lebanon Elementary School, are organizing a National
Youth Service Day event. Members of the McKendree University Bearcats football team
and elementary school students will work together on various projects at Lebanon Care
Center, Lebanon Terrace, Cedar Ridge, First United Methodist Church and Pentecostal
Power Church from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
