Business Students Earn Top 10 Honors at PBL Nationals
7/16/2008

Two McKendree University students earned top ten honors at Phi Beta Lambda’s National Leadership Conference, June 21–24 in Atlanta.

Rebecca Lindstrom, a senior accounting and political science major from Rockford, placed fourth in Statistical Analysis. Ivan Stoyanov, a senior management major from Sofia, Bulgaria, placed eighth in Management Concepts. Lindstrom was also awarded a scholarship from PBL at the conference.

Also competing were junior Nicki Wilhelm, an accounting student from Mascoutah; and Emily Eilermann, a sophomore accounting student from Breese.

To be eligible to compete at the national level, students must place first or second in their respective events at the State Leadership Conference, which was held in April. All of these students earned first place honors at the state competition.

Phi Beta Lambda is the national business organization for college and university students. It is the post-secondary branch of Future Business Leaders of America. The organization supports and encourages student activities and success at local, state and national levels, to prepare them for careers after college and to help them distinguish themselves.
