Christine Brewer and the Chicago Chamber Orchestra to Perform at the Hett

Lebanon, Ill. – Grammy Award winning soprano Christine Brewer and the Chicago Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert as part of the 4th annual Southern Illinois Music Festival at the Russel E. and Fern M. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on Wednesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Honor Society Welcomes 107 New Members

Lebanon, Ill. - The McKendree University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi held its 5th induction ceremony on Friday, April 18 in the Russel E. and Fern M. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts. The honor society welcomed 107 new members and installed new officers in the ceremony. Forty-three undergraduate students, 59 graduate students, two alumni, two faculty and one staff members were inducted.

Wesley Foundation Director to Speak at McKendree Baccalaureate Service

Lebanon, Ill. – Rev. Jennifer Edwards Bertrand, Director and Campus Minister for the Illinois State University Wesley Foundation, will speak at McKendree College’s Baccalaureate Service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9 in the Melvin Price Convocation Center.

McKendree University Students Earn Honors Recognition

McK Idol Karaoke Competition Benefited Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund

Lebanon, Ill. - The McKendree University Campus Activities Board teamed up with Kappa Lambda Iota, the Clionioan Literary Society (CLIO), to sponsor the 5th annual McKendree Idol Challenge in April. The final round was held on Wednesday, April 23 at 8:30 p.m. in the Russel E. and Fern M. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts.

McKendree Student Selected to Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Internship

Lebanon, Ill. – Tony Mitchell (Columbus, Geo.), a McKendree junior Political Science major, has been chosen to participate in a month-long internship program sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Mitchell will serve as intern to Rep. Sanford Bishop for the duration of the program, which will run May 25th through June 26th in Washington D.C.

Lebanon, Ill. – Two McKendree students were asked to present papers at the Midwest Regional Conference of the American Academy of Religion held at Dominican University in Oak Park, Ill. April 4-5, 2008. Three other McKendree students attended the conference.

McKendree Student Selected into New Leadership Illinois Class of 2008

Lebanon, Ill. – Becky Lindstrom, a senior political science major from Rockford, Ill., is one of 20 college and university students to be accepted into the New Leadership Illinois class of 2008. The program will be held June 3-8 at the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.

Spring Fling Chalk the Circle Event on April 19

Lebanon, Ill. – McKendree University’s Campus Activities Board will host Chalk the Circle on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Chalk the Circle is a new Spring Fling event. The circle drive outside of Piper Academic Building will be used as the canvas for the event.

McKendree University to Host Model United Nations Conference

Students from more than 14 area high schools will debate world issues at this spring’s Model United Nations Conference hosted by McKendree University on April 9 through 11. The conference will be held in multiple locations on the Lebanon campus.


McKendree University Presents Well Hungarians and Trippin’ Billies at Spring Fling on April 19

The McKendree University Campus Activities Board and Registered Student Organizations invite the community to attend the annual Spring Fling Carnival on Saturday, April 19 at noon in the campus quad. There will be inflatables, carnival games, a petting zoo, children’s activity area and more!
