Cornerstone Circle
The mission of the Cornerstone Circle of the William McKendree Society is to recognize loyal donors who understand that McKendree University can fulfill its educational goals only with their regular support and financial involvement. As a Cornerstone member, you belong to a premier group of alumni who support McKendree’s mission and vision. Each individual member plays an important role in helping maintain McKendree’s leadership in higher education.
Cornerstone members have opportunities to attend special events, meet with other McKendree supporters, and have a positive impact on the business of the university. As a member, you will also be recognized in the biannual publication: The Magazine for McKendree, which will also keep you informed about the impact of your investment in McKendree.
Traditionally, the household giving threshold for William McKendree Society membership is $1,000 annually. The William McKendree Society uses the Cornerstone Circle as an opportunity to recognize McKendree’s younger graduates who are making a strong effort to support McKendree in a generous way.
That is why the Cornerstone Circle was created. The Cornerstone membership is stair-stepped based on annual household giving of $100 for each year since the most recent undergraduate graduation date in your household. For example, if you graduated 2 years ago, a gift of $200 this year qualifies you for full membership in the Cornerstone Circle. To continue your membership next year, you would need to increase your giving to $300. I hope by the time you reach the tenth anniversary of your graduation from McKendree you will want to continue giving $1,000 annually. It is that simple!
