B.F.A.,   University of Cincinnati

Teaching Interest:

I like teaching studio art and art history to both aspiring young artists and avocationally interested students as well. The skill development and creative awareness necessary to allow for visual expression is exciting and rewarding for students regardless of major or career choice. I provide instruction that allows for participation in, and the appreciation of artistic discovery and tangible results.

Instructional:

The McKendree curriculum in Art is intended to develop an appreciation of how the human creative process can ultimately be translated into a work of art, while providing hands-on experience in the various forms of art with participation in the studio process as a medium. It is also intended to develop a solid understanding of the major developments in Art History and the role of individual artists in influencing significant artistic movements. The curriculum is geared towards developing functional skills in all primary media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, and design.
