“Coaches have the responsibility to teach more than just winning games. Using competitive skills to win in the game of life is the ultimate challenge.”

Teaching Interests:

I enjoy teaching, coaching and working with young people. I am interested in helping young people who want to become teachers and coaches of competitive sports. Knowledge of fundamental skills and sound philosophy is paramount in understanding proper preparation for a career in athletics.

Research Interest:

I have had a career of examining the theories and philosophies of successful basketball coaches at the highest levels – secondary, collegiate and professional. I find comparisons of successful coaches informative and rewarding.

Presentations:

I have served as a guest speaker at various basketball coaching clinics and civic organizations

Teaching Philosophy:

I prefer a positive approach in teaching. Incorporating competitive techniques makes for faster and more comprehensive learning. Rewards for success stimulate enthusiasm and improve work ethic. Teaching and learning are enhanced by successfully completing progressive challenges.
