Linda E. Hoffman, a resident of Wood River, Ill., joined McKendree University as an assistant professor of psychology in 2006.  

Education:  

1999 – Ph.D. in Applied Experimental (Social) Psychology from Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Mo.
1995 – M.A. in General Psychology from SIU-Edwardsville
1978 – B.S.in Business Administration in from SIU-Edwardsville
1975 – A. S. in Business Data Processing from Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Ill. 

 

 

Research Interests:

My research interests include decision making, workplace issues, racial identity, and gerontology.  Most recently I have been reading about positive psychology and hope to do research in that area in the future. 

Teaching Interests:

My teaching interests include industrial/organizational psychology, gerontology, biopsychology, , research methods, SPSS,  and statistics. 

 

 

Personal Statement: 

I am thrilled that I have been given the opportunity to leave the business world and finally achieve my passion – teaching and psychology research.  I love working with students, faculty, administration and staff at McKendree University and hope to contribute as much as I can to McKendree’s positive academic environment.
