Scholars: The McKendree Journal of Undergraduate Research is published on-line each year at McKendree. Scholars was founded to create a forum for superior undergraduate research, to encourage undergraduate research and scholarly writing, and provide its staff with a challenging academic experience.

Scholars will publish submissions from all disciplines and methodological styles. The arguments expressed in an article do not necessarily reflect those of the McKendree or the journal editors.

Only papers written as a McKendree undergraduate can be submitted to Scholars. Manuscripts must originate as an assignment in a McKendree course.

Authors may submit a manuscript by sending a hard copy and a copy on disk to Dr. Brian Frederking at Piper 204. All manuscripts must contain the author's name, address, telephone number, email address, major, class status, acknowledgement of faculty support, and an abstract no longer than 150 words. Manuscripts must be no longer than 12,000 words including text, tables, figures, notes, references, and appendices. Papers not adhering to these guidelines are subject to rejection without review. Editors reserve the right to alter content for purposes of grammar, space, and language.
