--CPS is a Carter Award Finalist!! McKendree's Center for Public Service is one of three Illinois Campus Compact finalists for the 2008 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Award which recognizes exemplary college-community partnerships and service learning. The winner will be announced on Nov. 6 in Chicago. The CPS is recognized for its 18-year partnership with the Christian Activity Center, which provides education, health and recreation programs for East St. Louis children.
