Homecoming Parade Information

The Homecoming Parade is fast becoming one of our best traditions.  There were over 40 student, departmental, and local entries in the Homecoming Parade last year, and we are looking to expand beyond that this year!  McKendree Registered Student Organizations and other groups enter floats, cars, bands, horses and other walking groups to show off their McKendree Spirit!

The parade line-up begins at 9:30am in the parking lot north of the Intramural Gym.  We will begin the parade at 10:30am.  Our route this year will be the same as last year.  Directions of the parade route are below.

PARADE ROUTE:

The floats will originate in the MPCC (Intramural Gym) north parking lot, just off of Alton St..  At lineup, entries will go in order, with the first entry at the intersection of Alton and Summerfield Streets.  The parade will continue south on Alton St. and turn (left) east onto St. Louis Street.  Floats will then turn North (left) on North Pearl Street, followed by a (left) west turn onto Center Street.  The parade will then turn right onto Alton Street, and head north back to the MPCC (Intramural Gym) north parking lot.

McKendree groups may bring their parade entry forms  to the Campus Activities Board Office, located in The Lair.   Community entries are due no later than Friday, October 9, 2009, and may be submitted to:  Campus Activities Board, 701 College Road, Lebanon, IL 62254.
