Rain Back-up Plan Undergraduate
IF RAIN IS FORECAST, PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK THE MCKENDREE WEB SITE (www.mckendree.edu) TO SEE WHERE THE CEREMONY WILL BE HELD!!
In the event of rain, Commencement will be moved to the Melvin Price Convocation Center (located on Alton Street). The ceremony for undergraduate students will remain at 9:00 am, and a separate ceremony will be held for Master’s degree candidates at 2:00 pm.
If this occurs, please observe the following procedures:
Graduates will be given four (4) tickets each to admit their guests to the ceremony.
Your tickets are attached to this sheet.
We realize most graduates wish to have more than four guests. However, we cannot accommodate more than that if we must move the ceremony inside. We ask for your understanding, cooperation and consideration if it rains.
Graduates are welcome to trade with friends who will not use all of their tickets.
Children over three (3) years of age must have a ticket. Younger children who can be held throughout the ceremony will not need a ticket. Please do not bring strollers; the seating in the gym is very crowded and there will not be room to accommodate them. They cannot be parked in the aisles or in front of the bleachers due to access issues and fire codes.
There will be a special seating section for those in wheelchairs.
There will be some overflow seating in the Intramural Gym where there will be a video feed. Guests without tickets should proceed directly to the Intramural Gym. We advise you to arrive early as these seats are first come, first served.
Graduates – Please give your tickets and the above information to your guests prior to the ceremony! The tickets won’t do your guests any good if you are holding onto them during the lineup and they are trying to get into MPCC!
