Assessment
Thank you for teaching at McKendree University and for encouraging your students to complete their course evaluations. Students should complete their evaluations before the last class period. Instructors can complete their self-evaluations and rubrics if applicable for up to 7 days after the course has ended. Instructors may check the status of completed assessments (not results) during the open assessment period; only after the assessments are closed will instructors be able to view specific results.
Four-teen days after the last class period you should be able to review your course evaluation results.
Instructor evaluation procedure:
1.) Upload the syllabi and goals for all of your classes into the assessment online system.
To access the assessment page: http://assessment.mckendree.edu
(Your username is your McK email address, e.g., JSmith@mckendree, edu, and your regular McK password. In some cases you may need to enter a domain name and that name is McK.)
2.) Some of your classes (general education, capstone classes, and writing intensive courses) may have attached rubrics. Please complete if there is an attached rubric.
3.) For each of your classes, go to the assessment page and complete the faculty self evaluation of the class.
4.) After the grading time period, you should be able to go to this same page and select DOCS/STATS on the right hand side. Once in there you can go to My courses Taught Statistics and view the numbers and the open ended comments. You can also select My Courses/Division/McKendree Comparison Statistics to compare your course scores with other scores. Please note that there is a course mean (average) for your course, an average for courses in your division or school, and an average for all courses at McKendree. These other averages are simply to give you a comparison. (Some computers may have firewall settings that may not allow you to visit this site. This is especially true for some work and school computers.)
This online assessment system has proved very useful so far, we have received good return rates, the feedback seems more substantial, and we are saving time and paper with this system. Please note, not all courses appear on the system. Student evaluations for courses taught by tenured faculty are only included if the instructor requests it from Information Technology. We appreciate your commitment to McKendree University. More information about the evaluation process is covered at the teaching workshops each semester. If you have any questions about the assessment process, please contact Tami Eggleston, Associate Dean, at 618-537-6926 or tegglest@mckendree.edu. If you have trouble logging in or other IT problems, please contact John Graham at 618-537-6822. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Tami Eggleston
