Majors and Programs

Undergraduate Students: Many students come to McKendree University knowing exactly what major they will pursue, whereas others arrive with no idea about what specific course of study they will choose. Fortunately, undergraduate students have an opportunity to take general education classes and explore various disciplines during their first few semesters at McKendree. In fact, it is not uncommon for students to change majors during their university careers.
McKendree offers 6 bachelor's degrees in 40 major areas of study. There are additional opportunities to supplement the majors with minors and there are even concentrations and tracks available in many areas. At McKendree University, we encourage students to develop multiple interests, skills, and talents. It is typical to find a business major with a music minor, an education major with a sport psychology minor, or a biology major with a gender studies minor.
Graduate Students: McKendree also offers graduate degrees in four areas. These include a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education, and Master of Science in Nursing. Our graduate programs are taught by full time McKendree faculty members and distinguished practitioners working in their fields of study, all dedicated to our guiding principle of small classes and participative student involvement.
