Curriculum Director for Athletic Training Education and Associate Professor of Athletic Training.
Dr. Hankins received her bachelor of science degree from Coe College in Iowa, her
master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and her Ph.D. from
Saint Louis University. Dr. Hankins is responsible for the supervision and coordination
of the academic program as well as teaching major courses within the program. Dr.
Hankins provides clinical coverage for the volleyball program.
Katy Gayford, MS, LAT
Clinical Coordinator for Athletic Training Education and Instructor of Athletic Training.
Katy earned her bachelor of science degree from Western Illinois University and her
master’s degree from Indiana State University. Katy is responsible for the coordination
of the clinical education of the academic program as well as teaching major courses
within the program. Katy provides clinical coverage for the men’s and women’s soccer
and track programs.
Associate Faculty
Lance Ringhausen, LAT
Head Athletic Trainer and Clinical Instructor for Athletic Training Education.
Lance received his bachelor of science degree from Cedarville University in Ohio.
Lance is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the athletic training rooms as
well as teaching football clinical. Lance provides clinical coverage for football,
men’s basketball and women’s basketball.
Kristin Hustedde, MS, LAT, CSCS
Assistant Athletic Trainer and Clinical Instructor in Athletic Training Education.
Kristin received her bachelor of science degree from McKendree and her master’s degree
from Ohio University. Kristin is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
She is responsible for assisting Lance with the day-to-day operations of the athletic
training rooms as well as teaching major courses within the program. Kristin provides
clinical coverage for ice hockey and softball.
Lawrence Stein, MD
Team Physician and Clinical Instructor in Athletic Training Education.
Dr. Stein is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a fellowship in sports medicine. Dr.
Stein also provides educational instruction within the major courses of the program.
Jay Noffsinger, MD
Team Physician and Clinical Instructor in Athletic Training Education.
Dr. Noffsinger teaches at the St. Louis University Medical School and is certified in sports medicine. Dr. Noffsinger acts as Medical Director for the academic program, teaches the general medical pathology courses and provides weekly visitation hours in the McKendree athletic training room.
