Percussion Ensembles

Evan Hinds - Percussion Instructor
The Percussion Ensembles at McKendree are open to all percussion students. Performance opportunities include:
McKendree University Drumline and Marching Bearcat Band, Percussion Ensemble, Wind
Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Pep Band.
The McKendree University Percussion Ensemble presents material ranging from the early
1930's to contemporary literature, traditional transcriptions, and adaptations, and
original compositions. The students represent a variety of academic areas across campus.
The Marching Bearcat Band Drumline is an important part of the marching band. Comprised
of percussionists, as well as Music Education majors, the ensemble serves as a learning
environment for all involved.
The MBB Drumline rehearses 3 days a week with the band, as well as sectional times
scheduled outside of the rehearsal schedule. The line consists of Marching Basses,
Marching Snares, Marching Tenors, and Cymbals.
The Drumline performs at all home football games with the band, as well as other special
events through the year.
