All-Star Marching Band and DCI St. Louis

UPDATE

Unfortunately we did not have enough student registrations for the All Star Marching Band for us to perform at the Fair St. Louis Parade on July 4th, 2012 and the DCI St. Louis Show on July 16th.    Hopefully we can work on more publicity so this will work out for next year.  I apologize that we have to cancel this fantastic ensemble experience this year but, due to the limited number of students who registered, we do not see any alternative.  I hope that you will decide to join us again next year or for our spring semester All-Star Wind Ensemble which we will be accepting auditions for in December 2012.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I hope you have a great summer!

Each school which has students who apply will have at least one student represented in the ASMB. More students may be selected depending on instrumentation. Students will be required to attend a minimum of four rehearsals prior to each performance. Students will also be able to perform at one event of their choosing or both events.

All-Star Marching Band Registration

There are two ways a student can become a part of the All-Star Marching Band.

1) The high school band director can nominate a student (no audition required).

2) The student can register themselves (audition required).

f the student registers themselves we will need an audition video. The audition needs to include a jazz etude or a concert etude and a piece of music the student is playing or has played in school.

How to submit an audition video:

1) Upload a video to YouTube. (make sure to select unlisted under the privacy settings)

2) Once the video is uploaded send the link to the video to music@mckendree.edu.

If you do not have a YouTube account and wish not to create one please send us an email and we can figure out an alternative method.

For any 2011 ASMB member we only need you to fill out the student registration form.  There is no audition required.

Deadline is Tuesday, June 5th.

Director Nomination Form or Student Registration Form   (only one form is required)

Hold Harmless Form   (must be completed prior to first rehearsal)

DCI St. Louis

One of the most popular Midwestern stops on last summer’s Drum Corps International Tour schedule, DCI St. Louis returns in 2012 on Monday, July 16. McKendree University’s Leemon Field will once again play host to this event in Lebanon, Ill., located just east of St. Louis.

DCI Volunteer Registration

Each year thousands of volunteers generously step forward to assist the DCI tour.  We realize that very few of the many behind-the-scenes roles are glamorous, but we are committed to ensuring that your time volunteering is enjoyable and fulfilling.  We appreciate your willingness to volunteer and be apart of the Drum Corps International experience.
