McKendree Concert Choir

A 40-50 voice ensemble directed by Dr. John McDonald, this choir is open to all singers. Each semester the Concert Choir performs major works ranging from the Baroque era to the 21 st century. In the past the choir has sung works by Vivaldi, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schubert, Britten, Michael Hurd and John Rutter among others. The choir has presented concerts featuring music from operas, classical masterpieces, and Broadway musicals. The choir often performs with an orchestra or chamber ensemble. This course may be taken for 1 or 0 credit and students may use this course to fulfill their General Education Fine Arts requirement. McKendree Chamber Choir

A select ensemble, drawn from the Concert Choir membership, is directed by Dr. Nancy S. Ypma, and performs vocal chamber music from all time periods. McKendree Vocal Jazz Ensemble

An small ensemble focusing on singing arrangements of popular songs for unaccompanied voices. In addition to a cappella repertoire, the group performs every semester with other jazz ensembles and focuses on a variety of repertoire from jazz classics to pop.
