About Auditions at McKendree

  • Auditions will consist of scene work from the script.
  • It is not necessary to prepare a monologue.
  • After filling out an audition form, you will be given scenes from the script and matched up with other auditioners.
  • You will have time to review the scene and practice your readings.
  • When you return to the theater, you will be asked to perform your scene for the director.
  • You may be given notes and asked to repeat a portion of the scene.
  • You and your partner may also be asked to switch roles and do the scene again
  • Attendance for the full three hours of auditions is not required
  • If you have a conflict with this audition time, contact Michelle Magnussen to schedule an alternate time
  • Part of the audition sheet that you will fill out is a calendar showing your rehearsal availability.  Bring your class and work schedules to auditions.
  • Your availability may influence your casting.
